a couple of questions

1) to compile HYPHYMPI on RedHat I had to modify build.sh to use mpigcc and mpigxx. It was the only way it compiled, is this ok?
2) if I do a "top" after launching HYPHYMPI, should more than one HYPHYMPI process show?

Thanks!

Martin

Dear Martin,

"1) to compile HYPHYMPI on RedHat I had to modify build.sh to use mpigcc and mpigxx. It was the only way it compiled, is this ok?"

This should be OK, since mpixxx is simply a wrapper for an appropriate xxx call (libraries etc). What error messages did you get with the standard build script?

"2) if I do a "top" after launching HYPHYMPI, should more than one HYPHYMPI process show?"

They should. Remember to call 'mpirun -np xx HYPHYMPI' to start HYPHY in an MPI environment. Also, not all HYPHY analyses are MPI enabled - so some may only utilize the master node.

You may find this little HyPhy script useful for cluster testing:

You should be able to run it with

mpirun -np xx HYPHYMPI (path)/MPITest.bf
