hyphy x64 version?

For hyphy, is it possible to provide x64 version for Windows? I can not get lunix cluster sever, and with my A64 3200+ CPU, win32 version really runs not fast enough.

Dear wintone,

I'll see how easy it is to compile a 64-bit version (I assume it's for Windows XP 64 bit edition) and try to provide a 64 bit executable, hopefully soon. However, in my experience, 32 bit and 64 bit versions of most applications do not differ dramatically in speed; e.g. when HyPhy is compiled in 64 bits on AIX under Power4, it runs at the same speed as a 32-bit version.

Unfortunatly, some analyses do take quite some time to run...

Cheers,
Sergei

yes, there are really some win64 programs runs as fast as win32 version, as far as I know, when i recompile baseml in PAML to x64, it runs 30% faster, however, for codeml in PAML, nothing chenges in x64 version. maybe this is depend on you coding detail.
just a chance, let's try it.

I still haven't been able to find a free compiler to generate 64 bit Windows GUI code (there are some which will do command line, but not GUI). If you know of any, let me know.

Cheers,
Sergei
