error mesage

Dear Sergei,

I build HYPHY_GTK on ubuntu and I have been trying to follow the tutorial in order to get used to HYPHY, but I get stacked with the following error message:

The following error occurred:
Parameter list is out of context:0,?005257710026405174

where the number is the estimation of one of the parameters. If I skip the message the computations continue, but, for instance, LTR does not work.
I guessed a problem with the local configuration of the decimal separator and I switched the local configuration to the US configuration, but it does not work anyway.
Do you think that you can help me?

many thanks for your time

Jordi

Dear Jordi,

Haven't seen this one before. Your guess about a ',' instead of a '.' as a decimal placeholder for floating-point numbers is the best one I can come up with. I have access to a ubuntu machine; I can try to recreate it and see if it has to do with the locale setting. Which tutorial exercise were you stuck on?

Also, does the command line version work on your distro?

Cheers,
Sergei

Hi Sergei,
1.- The problem (the error message) arises from the first exercise, but I get stuck when trying to define Et and Ev on page 15, and when trying to perform the LRT on page 17 of the document "HyPhy: Hypothesis Testing Using Phylogenies"

2- At the beginning I was trying the console version to have a more visual idea of the process, but in fact what I'm going to use is the command line version. I have been trying this version and it seems to work fine. So, for me the problem is solved!

I really appreciate your help and I hope you have not lost much of your time.

cheers,
jordi
