Segmentation fault
Jul 15th, 2010 at 7:44pm

Hello,

I am trying to run HYPHY on a large matrix (976x976) and am experiencing the following error before HYPHY aborts:

*** glibc detected *** /bin/hyphy/HYPHY/HYPHYMP: double free or corruption (!prev): 0x000000003e52b2d0 ***

I use this command to get by the error:

export MALLOC_CHECK_=0

However, although HYPHY will run, the optimization does not converge and crashes with a segmentation fault error.

The same exact code works perfectly with a 244x244 matrix and the optimization converges.

Is HYPHY able to handle such large matrices?  Is there anyway to get around these errors?

Mike

Hi Mike,

There should be no problem with a 944x944 matrix assuming you enough ram.
This must be a bug that I'd like to track down. Could you email the batch files that I would need to replicate the crash?
