Branch-site REL error
Oct 29th, 2012 at 12:50am

Hello.

I am running Branch-site REL analyses with the HyPhy package, which have generally been successful, but occasionally I get the following error message:

"An error occurred: Cannot reuse the filter 'def' because it is already being used by likelihood function 'three_LF', and the two likelihood functions impose different leaf-to-sequence mapping. Create a copy the filter and pass it to the second likelihood function to resolve. Current operation/job has been terminated."

I have run other analyses with HyPhy using the same files without issue. Any advice on how to deal with this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi there,

This does sound like a bug, but not an immediately obvious one. Can you provide the following information:

1). Are you running HyPhy on the command line or through the GUI?
2). Does the error occur reproducibly on the same data set (if so, please attach the dataset)?
3). If you run HyPhy through the GUI, does the error occur the first time you run BS-REL, or after you've run previous analyses?

Following on from 3), it's seems that the error only occurs upon running subsequent analyses. If I restart each time, there is no error. So I can continue working.

Thanks.

(I am running through the GUI.)

Hi there,

I am glad you have a workaround. We are currently re-engineering the GUI, so hopefully the error will go away.
