GTK GUI in KDE (kubuntu)
Oct 13th, 2006 at 7:41am

Dear Sergei,
I am trying to build the GUI front end in kubuntu, but have run into some problems.

Here's the last lines from my console output, where the error is reported.

File HYWindow.cpp is up to date
Linking HYPHY_GTK
objGTK_SP/mainGTK.cxx.o: In function `ExecuteAFile(bool)':mainGTK.cxx:(.text+0x36d5): undefined reference to `skipWarningMessages'
:mainGTK.cxx:(.text+0x37ef): undefined reference to `skipWarningMessages'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Finished

I am guessing I am missing some libraries, but I don't know which.
Any help will be appreciated.

Dear Federico,

This is odd; I just tried building the latest source on a RedHat box and all went well. Did you use the latest source distro? The variable should be declared in 'error.cpp'.

Cheers,
Sergei

Sergei,
thanks for your prompt reply, and sorry for wasting your time.
I must have something to do with permissions. I can build the GTK_GUI in the home directories, but not in /usr/local/src
And I have the same problem in a SUSE box.
But I can use it this way without any trouble.
thanks
