Interpretation of episodic diversifying selection (BSR) results
Sep 20th, 2013 at 8:19am

Hello,

I did a branch site REL analysis from datamonkey and had the following results:
Found 1 branches under episodic diversifying selection at p<0.05
Branch A (A is the name of one of my species)
Corrected p-value 0.002
w+ 10,000.00
Pr[w=w+] 0.00, Pr the proportion of sites inferred to be evolving at w+ along this branch.
I need help in understanding while Pr is zero when there is evidence of episodic diversifying selection on the branch.  I expected Pr>0 since there are sites under positive selection according to the results.

Hi there,

Pr[w=w+] = 0.00 up to two digits of precision (i.e. it is not exactly zero). If you look at the CSV results file from the analysis, you will have access to more decimal places.
