How do I run the Slatkin Maddison test with a .nwk from MEGA

Hi

Apologies for the dumb question, this is my first day using HyPhy.

I am trying to perform the Slatkin Maddison test using .nwk files that I exported from MEGA. However HyPhy keeps rejecting them due to how they are named.

>>>>>>>

Error: Node names should begin with a letter, a number, or an underscore. Had:((((((((((((((('REG.?MID2_Run7_CAACCAAGTC_75':0.000000

Function call stack

Should I make the .nwk files using a different program? I have fallen at the first hurdle!

Thanks!!!

Hello Rahsberry,

It looks like the node id begins with a single quote.

We are checking for a letter, a number, or an underscore by using the C++ ctype standard library function "isalnum(x)" on the beginning of the node string.

Thanks,
Steven
